Harris uses an informative yet critical tone and appeals to the nation through the use of hypoanaphora and enumeration to convince the nation that President Trump is only going make racist America great. Harris has a critical tone when it comes to President Trump's propositions. Throughout the article, Harris proposes hypothetical questions. Harris repeatedly asks "which America" will President Trump make great Again (Harris, paragraph 3). She asks this question to make the nation question themselves. She's provided the audience data to support her question, so they know the answer to the question. These questions put emphasis on her claim. Harris also enumerates the discriminatory things President Trump has said. President Trump has called minorities things such as "thugs... liabilities...objects" (Harris, paragraph 1). This enumeration lists how he really sees minorities. Listing the negative things President Trump has said highlights that he is a white supremacist. The nation will then get the idea that these discriminatory terms that President Trump has used are countless. President Trump's first presidential term has sparked some controversy. Harris was effectively able to convince the nation by using hypoanaphora and enumeration. |
